Heinrich comes from an expatriate Helvetian family. The small Duchy of Helvetia (pronounced Hel-vee-sha, not Hel-vet-ee-ah) is an island to the south of Teutonia. It was a pleasant mountainous land until it was overrun by foul creatures of the Skaven Clan Aeric
Forced to abandon the homeland, the family travelled north through Teutonia and eventually settled in Norsca. The head of the family is Duke Ulrich von Alfeld and his eldest son was Count Reiner von Alfeld. This young man was unfortunately killed by the marauding invaders. The two surviving children were Baron Heinrich and Countess Ilse.
The young Heinrich has lived in Norsca for most of his life and is genuinely loyal to its King. However, he longs for a return to Helvetia and intends to use what influence he has with the Wolves and Vipers to eventually organise an army to take back the ancestral home, SchlossRotteufel.
As you can see it should properly be ex-Baron but that's a bit clumsy and the title is still rightfully his anyway.
In 1096 Heinrich continued as Wolf ambassador to the Vipers and was granted the title Earl, so he was Earl ex-Baron then!
In early 1097 Heinrich was made 3IC by Gunnar, and then 2IC at the end of The Gathering, after the impeachment of Aleda, so he's Lord ex-Baron now!
In the Sprint of 1099, Heinrich stepped down from command, as he and his countrymen needed to concentrate on their homeland. He also became romantically involved with Lerianneth Penhaligon and removed to the Harts, spurred on by a difference of philosphy with King Gunnar.
